This Fourth of July Weekend in Newport

The 4th of July weekend is coming up soon and there are plenty of events to attend! This weekend to celebrate Independence Day, you should look forward to good food, a good time with family and friends, and of course–fireworks! If you don’t have any plans yet, check out some of our suggestions:

New Jersey’s July 4th Celebration

Held at Exchange Place, Jersey City, this night will be filled with premium fireworks, food trucks, and entertainment! Headlining the event are Flo Rida and Shaq, while the fireworks are put on by Fireworks by Grucci, holders of the Guinness World Record for the “Largest Fireworks Display.” For Newport residents, this event is super close to home and you will have a terrific view of the fireworks over the Hudson! In fact, we would love it if you took pictures and tagged us on Instagram @newportnjapts. We would love to see your stunning firework views and 4th of July celebrations!

4th of July Fireworks Food Festival

The Jersey City Fireworks and Food Festival is being hosted on Montgomery Street at Exchange Place PATH Plaza! Join them for an evening of delicious food, artisanal shopping, drinks, and music. This event is free and everyone is welcome to attend!

The event is to go on from 12pm-9:30pm and after, there’s fireworks!

4th of July Fireworks Cruise

If you’re looking for something more private and unique, you can get tickets for a cruise! This holiday boat ride lasts for 4 hours in the waters of the Hudson as you watch the fireworks. It also includes a buffet dinner, an open bar for those 21+ (or an open soda bar to everyone else), and an evening of dancing. Tickets are $199 for 21+ and $179 for ages 3 – 20. Cornucopia Cruise Lines is just one of many that host these super fun boat rides!

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Show

This event is an iconic one and one of the biggest in the region. If you want to go all out and celebrate the holiday by viewing this show, there are five different access points for prime viewing. However, be aware that as crowds build, locations will close. It is a free, public event for anyone to go along the East River in Manhattan, So be sure to show up early to get a great view!

4th of July Virtual Marathon

Essentially, this is a virtual race where you choose to complete a 1M, 5K, 10K, 13.1 or 26.2. You complete your race on your own and submit your time, then your medal gets shipped directly to you! To celebrate the holiday, the groups intend to donate at least 15% of each registration to HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS, an organization that builds homes for severely injured veterans.

Whatever you decide to do, it’s going to be an amazing weekend! Don’t forget to tag us in your celebrations on Instagram. Happy 4th of July to all of our residents!
